Amazon joins the visual search & shop party

Amazon recently announced a new feature called StyleSnap that enables customers to take a photo and shop similar items in the look.

The concept definitely makes sense - and has been an option on social platforms and from leading fashion retailers for a while now.

In theory, it leverages machine learning to remove friction from the process. In reality, it’s weird to stop someone on the street. “Excuse me, I love your style. Mind if I take a photo?” :-)
