Dentsu ran a survey recently to understand consumer impressions of generative AI.
Topline results: Most consumers (87%) say they have heard of AI. But that figure drops to 61% who claim to “somewhat understand” what generative AI is and how it works. 42% say they’re interested in the technology while only 27% say they have used generative AI tools.
Surveys can be tricky to get an accurate read on consumer behavior, of course. Let’s not forget that ChatGPT has set a record for the fastest-growing consumer internet application EVER, reaching 100 million users in about two months.
